Daily Devotion
The Word of God is not given merely to fill the mind, but to direct the heart toward the Lord. Today’s verse says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” It calls us to slow down, listen carefully, and bring the ordinary duties of the day under the light of Scripture.
A faithful day often begins with simple dependence. Before plans, conversations, burdens, and responsibilities press upon the mind, the believer may come before God and ask for grace to walk humbly. The Lord is not honoured by hurried religion that leaves the heart unchanged; He is honoured when His Word is received with faith and obeyed in love.
This does not mean the day will be easy. Scripture gives strength not by denying difficulty, but by showing us the Lord who is greater than our difficulty. The Christian life is lived one step at a time: trusting, praying, repenting, forgiving, serving, and continuing in the things God has made plain.
Let this verse become a quiet companion through the day. Return to it when the heart becomes distracted. Remember it before answering others. Pray it when decisions must be made. The Lord who speaks in His Word is faithful to guide His people in the path of obedience.
Prayer
Lord, help me to receive Thy Word with a humble and obedient heart. Keep me from rushing through the day in my own strength. Teach me to trust Thee, to remember Thy truth, and to walk in a way that honours the Lord Jesus Christ. Give me grace for my duties, patience with others, and a quiet spirit before Thee. Amen.
